Haiti Gospel Fund consists of a team of 9 board members. Each month this year, we plan to introduce you to a different board member. To kick things off, we are excited to introduce you to Rich Cannon who joined the board in December of 2013.
Rich Cannon is married to Stephanie and they have four lovely girls: Millie (age 10), Ella (age 9), Sydney (age 7) , Owen Claire (age 2). Rich is a Regional Sales Manager for a company in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
In April of 2013, Rich was able to make his first mission trip to the Hope Vision Orphanage in Haiti. The purpose of the trip was to begin site work for a water reservoir, evangelism/local ministry and loving on the kids. It was on this trip that he felt God leading him to do more than just a short term trip. Rich quickly discovered how difficult daily life was in Haiti and how much he took for granted in the US.
Rich’s heart broke upon realizing that many of the best intended efforts to have supplies sent to Hope Vision were failing for various reasons. On the way back to the US, Rich began praying for God to provide a way to send supplies directly to the orphanage. God answered that prayer loud and clear!! Over the course of 4 months, little pieces of a greater plan began to materialize and through His power supplies were delivered by boat directly to Port de Paix! Praise God for His never ending provision and love for all!
His plan in Haiti is not complete and there is much work still ahead. Rich says he is excited about sharing the love of Jesus Christ to those at the orphanage and their surrounding community. Serving with Haiti Gospel Fund allows Rich to continue to be a part of God’s plan. And for that, we are grateful.
