“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God.” I John 3:1. We call those we serve at Haiti Gospel Fund “orphans.” In the true definition of the word, the children who live at Hope Vision Ministry have been bereaved or abandoned by their natural parents, so the term “orphan” is accurate. Some children have lost their parents through death, some have been abandoned in the streets and their parents’ whereabouts are unknown, and some have been brought to Hope Vision Ministry by family members who cannot adequately care for them.
However, as the ministry’s name alludes, there is Hope for these kids. Hope that the children have lavish love from the Father. Hope that they will never be abandoned by the One who cherishes calling
them His children. Hope that death can never separate them from their Father’s love.
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.” I John 3:16. Through Jesus Christ, our world, including these orphans, have Hope. Love has been lavished on us. How should we respond to this love? “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth.” I John 3:18.
Those who have Jesus Christ are children of God. God has lavished his love on his children through Jesus Christ. Now, let us respond to that love with our actions and in truth.
